2014 LEARN Spring Program

Lifelong Education and Awareness of Recreational Needs provides a wide variety of educational opportunities and  skill development in community settings for all  persons with a disability ( including those who require a moderate to high degree of attendant support).

LEARN specializes in providing high quality instructors / facilitators for all our programs. We offer programs in Music, Arts, Health and Wellness and Computing.

LEARN Registration

Before registering for any activities, all new participants are required to complete a Participant Information form". Completed forms with payment must be mailed to the LEARN Program at the ILRCC office.

Registration Process

  • To register, select the class(s) you are interested in and fill out the registration form and either send it in by mail or drop it off at the Independent Living Resource Centre of Calgary along with the registration fees.
  • Once LEARN has received the registration form and payment you will be contacted confirming your spot in the program
  • If the class is full you will be contacted and you can either be put on a waiting list or chose a new program.
  • If you do not want to be redirected to a new program your registration fees will be mailed back to you, or a credit can be granted towards current/future LEARN programs.

PLEASE NOTE: REGISTRATIONS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED OVER THE PHONE. YOU MUST MAIL IN THE REGISTRATION FORM ALONG WITH PAYMENT.  NO PAYMENT = NO REGISTRATION.

Payment

All payments must be made in cash, cheque, money order or Visa or MasterCard. When paying by cheque or money order please make it out to "The Independent Living Resource Centre of Calgary."  If paying by credit card, please fill out the information on the front of the LEARN Program brochure.
Receipts

A receipt will be issued upon payment of cash at the office. All other receipts will be issued the first class of your chosen activity.

NSF FEE

LEARN will charge a $20.00 fee for all NSF cheques. After a cheque is returned NSF, the person who wrote the cheque will be contacted and given 2 days to come into the office and make the payment by money order,certified cheque or cash. The amount of payment must include the $20.00 service fee for the NSF cheque. After 4 days, the registration spot will be passed to the first person on the waiting list.

OUTSTANDING PROGRAM FEES

Please note: All outstanding fees must be paid in full prior to registering for programs. Please be sure your fees are up to date before attempting to register for new programs. No one with outstanding fees will be allowed to register for programs until their fees are paid in full. Telling us that you will put a cheque in the mail or drop by the next day with cash will not allow you to register. Outstanding payments must be received by our office
prior to registering for our program.

This includes outstanding fees for the Friday Night Out and About Program.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For any LEARN Program to commence, there must be at least 8 participants registered for any given program. 

If there is less than 8 participants registered, the program will be cancelled and all registration fees can be redirected to alternate programs, provided with a credit for current/future programs or refunded.

If you require assistance before, during or after a LEARN program, it is the participants responsibility to have appropriate support staff to assist you.  It is not the responsibility of Program Instructors or Group Leaders to assist with personal care, transportation, etc.
